Comparison of the ATTEND Study with Studies on STIMULANT MEDICATIONS and EEG BIOFEEDBACK TRAINING:
We came across Rossiter and La Vaque's article at the EEG Spectrum site. They used the same research tools as we had, and they also used the same time frames (30 days). Putting our information side to side with theirs, we have an apples to apples comparison for you to evaluate. A Comparison of EEG Biofeedback and Psychostimulants in Treating Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorders. Thomas P. Rossiter, and Theodore J. La Vaque. Journal of Neurotherapy, 1, Summer 1995 This page is about 70K in size, with each picture about 15K. Please be patient as the page loads up. It should take no more than 15 seconds.
Inattention, or errors of Omission In this category each of the three interventions made very nice improvements in the subjects (an improvement of 10 points is equal to 1 Standard Deviation). Positive Effects ScoreCard: As far as marketplace competetion goes, EEG Biofeedback wins this round. Marketplace Competetion Score:

Impulsivity, or errors of Commission In this category each of the three interventions also made very nice improvements in the subjects (an improvement of 10 points is equal to 1 Standard Deviation). Positive Effects ScoreCard: As far as marketplace competetion goes, the ATTEND Nutraceutical wins this round. Marketplace Competetion Score:
Reaction Time, or Response Time This is the hardest category to impact, as this relates directly to neurological functioning. The reaction time is measured in thousandths of a second. In this category each of the three interventions made significant improvements in the subjects (an improvement of 10 points is equal to 1 Standard Deviation), though biofeedback and the Attend were barely signficant. Positive Effects ScoreCard: As far as marketplace competetion goes, Stimulant Medication wins this round. Marketplace Competetion Score:

| Variability in Performance, or a measure of Consistency This category is the most sensitive to attention deficit disorder. The better the improvement here, the more a subject was "dialed in" to the task over the length of the test (22.5 minutes). In this category each of the three interventions made improvements in the subjects. Stimulant Medications and the Attend Nutraceutical product made very nice gains (greater than one standard deviation). Positive Effects ScoreCard: As far as marketplace competetion goes, Stimulant Medication (Riatlin and Dexedrine) wins this round. But Attend gave a good showing as compared to the Stimulants.
